We’re so excited that artist Cynthia Young will be presenting her amazing art collection at Robert Goodman Jewelers on September 1, 2023 from 5-8pm!

Cynthia’s art, which will be up through September 30, features beautiful displays of human figure, portraits, and more created with an amazing mixture of different color combinations and techniques.

Cynthia Young Biography:

Painting was the one thing I could do when I was little that could keep me perfectly content for hours and hours. I continue to love it and practice it daily.

I received a BFA degree in Interior Design and practiced Interior Design for many years before leaving the field to become an arts administrator. Through my work as an arts administrator, I rekindled my love of making art by taking an art class that reminded me of my passion for figure drawing.

Even though I have been creating in some form all my life, I started drawing and painting again in 2014. Since then, I have been prolific in my approach to creating.

I explore many subjects—floral, human figure, portrait, abstract, and more. I experiment with media, color combinations, and techniques while striving for spontaneity in my work. I don’t plan my paintings beforehand; I start with an inspiration and then I let them develop as I go.

I am inspired by Michelangelo, Degas, Leonardo Da Vinci, Franz Kline, Richard Diebenkorn, Matisse, and Robert Kushner to name a few. Current artists I admire include Michael Carson and Melinda Cootsana.
